What Every Coronavirus To-Go Bag Needs — Part 2

Dear Reader,

A healthy sleep-wake cycle is vital to your immune health.

Both too little sleep and too much sleep can cripple your immune system.

The average person needs around seven to eight hours of quality sleep.

The keyword here is quality

Unfortunately, one in every three adults doesn’t get enough quality sleep on a regular basis…

If you happen to be one of those people, there are four nutrients you can use for a better sleep-wake cycle...

Give these a try:

  1. Melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone that is incredibly important to your sleep-wake cycle. While your body naturally produces melatonin, many factors can throw off your melatonin levels. Blue light, which is emitted from computers, smartphones, LEDs, and TVs, for example, can throw off your body’s melatonin production. This can lead to difficulty getting to sleep and staying asleep. Take a melatonin supplement at night to give your sleep quality a boost.

  2. 5-HTP. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP for short) is an amino acid that naturally occurs in your body. If you’ve ever felt a “food coma” (extreme sleepiness or drowsiness) after overindulging, you’ve also felt the effects of tryptophan. 5-HTP is very similar. 5-HTP promotes restful sleep not only directly, but also indirectly by acting as a precursor for serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that is vital to non-rapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, which makes up 80% of your sleep at night.

  3. Magnesium. Magnesium is a super mineral that is involved in over 300 biological processes, from DNA synthesis to bone development. It’s instrumental in the sleep-wake cycle. After melatonin and 5-HTP have worked their deep-sleep magic, magnesium can help you feel refreshed and energized. It’s vital to the production of ATP, which is your body’s energy currency. Every action — breathing, walking, thinking — requires ATP. If your cells don’t have magnesium, you’ll still feel drained after a full night’s sleep. This leads to oversleeping, which isn’t good news for the immune system.

  4. L-Theanine. An important part of the sleep-wake cycle is having consistent energy throughout the day. The amino acid L-Theanine, which is found in green tea, is just the right nutrient for the job. L-Theanine crosses the blood-brain barrier and produces two neurotransmitters: GABA and dopamine. These help stimulate alpha brain waves. Alpha waves are also known as “awake” waves because they promote wakeful relaxation, improved concentration, reduced stress, and a happier mood. This will help you avoid naps that throw off the circadian rhythm.

Together, these four nutrients can help completely reset your sleep-wake cycle so that you get quality, immune-boosting sleep…

But who really wants to take four different supplements before going to bed?

With VitaDEEP, you get all four of these nutrients in one tiny capsule.

Imagine not having that irresistible desire to hit the snooze button over and over…
