The Next World Issue? Fast-Food Restaurants Threaten the Globe...

Hi y'all!

Alex Reid here with your Monday roundup.

Did you visit a fast-food restaurant this weekend?

If so… I’ve got some pretty dark, yet informative, news for you.

Just when you thought you had to only worry about toxic food…

Now, you have to beware of what materials your food goes in.

Let me explain…

There are seedy chemicals found in food packaging that could kill you over time.

There’s no other way to put it.

Worst of all, these chemicals never go away...

Last year, I’d mentioned that a very popular fast-food chain had these toxic “forever chemicals” in its food containers.

But it appears that many other popular chains are doing the same thing now.

This is what really is most important about this newfound information…

I don’t have to tell you that a whopper is bad for your health.

You know that.

Knowing you guys…

You probably go for the “healthier” alternative when you dine out.

Nowadays, you can get a  “Whole 30” or “Keto” option at your nearby Chipotle…

Or if you do stop by a McDonalds… you could even opt for a salad.

There are ways to maneuver around the fast-food industry.

But what scares me is… good-intentioned folks will walk right into these places… or even other “healthy” fast-casual eating spots.

If you’re one of those folks… who opts for CAVA over McDonald’s… you’re still not off the hook…

The Bigger Irony

These “forever chemicals” are officially referred to as PFAS. (That stands for per- and polyfluorylalkyl substances.)

PFAS molecules are so tightly bound on a molecular level, they are great for water and grease resisters! (So you could see why restaurants would want to use them to make food containers.)

The biggest irony is that places like Sweetgreen and Chipotle, both which are branded for being “healthy and planet-conscious” have touted their bowls as “compostable.”

In other words, the bowls aren’t supposed to harm the environment, but in fact will decompose and nurture the soil.

But research says… these bowls really aren’t what they are cracked up to be.

Testing has detected PFAS in the bowls for both of these chains…

So what’s that mean for the consumer?

These chemicals that are riddled throughout fast-food and fast-casual places are linked to health complications…

That even includes cancer!

Could you imagine going to your favorite fast-casual spot only to be served a side of cancer later in life?

That’s why you must see this table…

It includes six popular chains that have PFAS in their food packaging.

Don’t go anywhere else until you read this thoroughly for yourself.

Spoiler Alert: These chemicals are found in a lot more than just your food containers... And you'll find out what that is when you click on the link above.

Stay safe, and I’ll be in touch soon!

To your health,
