DANGER: The Real Reason You Feel Old and Tired - Part 1

You're in danger. Yes, aging is inevitable. But accelerated aging is not. Certain factors can onset your aging at warp speed! These factors include decisions that you make on a daily basis. If you were doing something that could take years off of your healthy, happy, fulfilling life, you'd want to know.

What Is Aging?

Aging is defined as "the process of becoming older; the onset of old age." It is a natural part of life, but it doesn't have to be an inevitable process that happens faster than intended. As you age, your body becomes less effective at repairing itself. This means that by speeding up the process, external factors can cause problems to occur earlier than they should. Let's take a look at the most common factors that contribute to accelerated aging.

7 Factors That Accelerate Aging

These are just some of the most common factors that have been found to have an impact on how quickly people age. Some of them relate to our daily lives, while others can be more difficult to avoid.

Factor #1: Standard American Diet (SAD). A poor diet can lead to a faster rate of aging. Processed food has been linked to the development of various diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease, and it can make you take on an unhealthy appearance as well.

When we eat fast food and other foods that don't offer us the proper balance of minerals and vitamins, we may start to look and feel like we're aging faster than we should. If you want to avoid this, try getting into the habit of eating healthier – it will save you a lot of trouble down the line!

Factor #2: Sugar. Excess sugar consumption can lead to a variety of health problems. It's been linked to the early development of serious conditions, such as heart disease and diabetes – and it can make you look and feel older more quickly as well. In terms of aesthetics, sugar and fructose influence the collagen in our skin through a process known as glycation.

Glycation is the result of excess sugar attaching to proteins or fats, which can cause them to become less effective. This is why sugars are associated with signs of premature aging.1 If you want to avoid accelerated aging due to your diet, try cutting down on the amount of sugar you're eating. A few healthy swaps here and there can make a world of difference when it comes to your health!
