CORONA 2.0: Are We at the Tipping Point?

How are you feeling today?
As I mentioned last week, now is the time to honor your mind, body, and soul.
The world, especially the U.S., is under extreme pressure.
And research shows the effects that heightened stress can have on the mind and body over a long period of time.
Not to mention, stress can weaken your immune system.
So as we enter this brand-new month, it is important that we keep a fresh perspective on our health.
Just as parts of America were starting to ease back into a sense of “normalcy”...
I can’t help but wonder if we overdid it?
Many Americans were elated to visit their favorite beaches last weekend, where they gathered with loved ones at their go-to restaurants.
Or they enjoyed pool parties and BBQs in their backyards.
Social distancing has gone completely out the window.
In light of the unrest that has erupted across the nation in just the past few days, crowds by the hundreds have gathered in many major cities.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), America has over 1.83 million cases of COVID-19.
So this begs the question…
When is the next wave of coronavirus going to sweep across our nation?
America is currently at a tipping point.
With thousands of people congregating in such close quarters, the numbers would suggest we should see an astronomical uptick in coronavirus cases.
So what does this mean for you?
What does this mean for the employees of businesses that are slowly opening back up?
Is there another wave about to hit?
And if the numbers don’t surge, then that would leave a lot of raised eyebrows at all of the “scientific information” the CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) have released.
In a recent briefing, Dr. Mike Ryan, executive director of WHO’s Health Emergencies Programme, admitted that another peak or wave could be coming:
We need to be also cognizant of the fact that the disease can jump up at any time. We cannot make assumptions that just because the disease is on the way down now that it's going to keep going down, and the way to get a number of months to get ready for a second wave – we may get a second peak in this way.
So folks, I will say this…
Be careful, vigilant, and intentional with your health.
Just as a reminder, here are 10 simple, yet effect, ways to support your health:
- Get a good night’s rest.
- Pray or meditate in the morning to balance yourself.
- Stretch or practice yoga daily.
- Drink plenty of water.
- Give your body the nutrients and minerals it needs.
- Get moving! Your body needs daily exercise.
- Easy on the things that make you sluggish — like sugar!
- Communicate with those who make you happy.
- Connect with nature often.
- Guard your mind from anything that could spike your stress levels. It’s called self-care.
